Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey wants to see a crackdown on online classified sites after a female escort was murdered inside a Burlington, Massachusetts, hotel room.
Middlesex DA Marion Ryan believes the two men facing charges were targeting female escorts and using online classified sites to find their victims, something that is now raising concerns of state leaders. Those two men are being held without bail, facing murder charges after year-old Sanisha Johnson of New York was shot to death at an extended-stay hotel.
They are also believed to have assaulted and robbed another woman at a nearby hotel last Wednesday. Healey tells the Boston Herald that more needs to be done regarding sites like Craigslist and Back that are what she calls portals for criminals. Authorities are also looking for a third person who may have been driving a getaway car.
